人物履历

1980年入长春地质学院地质系学习,

1987年7月和1990年12月在该校分别获岩石学硕士和博士学位,

1992年11月被聘为长春地质学院(后改名为长春科技大学、吉林大学地球科学学院)教授,

1995年10月至1996年11月在法国雷恩第一大学进修,

2003年3月调至中国科学院地质与地球物理研究所工作,任研究员。并任国内多家学术刊物编委,[1]

曾任中国科学院地质与地球物理研究所所长。[4]

2015年12月7日,当选中国科学院地学部院士。

2017年04月,中国科学院经研究,决定:吴福元任地质与地球物理研究所所长。[2]

学术研究

主要从事火成岩岩石学研究,其研究方向是利用岩石学和地球化学方法研究岩石形成的地质过程和受控制的地球动力学背景。在前人研究基础上,通过大量的同位素年代学测试,指出东北地区20余万平方公里的花岗岩主体形成于中生代,而不是以前认为的古生代;以前认为的佳木斯地块中的太古宙和新元古宙花岗岩分别形成于古生代早期和晚古生代。指出东北地区花岗岩的成因类型主要为I分异型和A型,不存在典型的S型花岗岩;指出这些花岗岩具有低的初始锶和高初始钕及年轻钕模式年龄的特点,认为其形成与地幔或年轻地壳关系密切。确认地质历史上的显生宙也是地壳生长的重要时期,而先前认为地壳基本形成于早前寒武纪的观点需要重新加以认识和修正。确认松辽盆地的基底应为与周围张广才岭、大兴安岭相同的显生宙造山带,不存在大规模的前寒武纪结晶基底;提出造山后是铜-镍硫化物矿床形成的一个重要构造背景;确认晚中生代是我国东部岩石圈减薄发生的时间,并提出中国东部现今岩石圈地幔是新生的,中生代时曾发生过软流圈与地壳直接接触的地球动力学现象等。在国内外主要刊物上发表学术论文100余篇,其中80余篇被SCI收录,SCI引用1000余次。主持过多项国家自然科学基金、中国科学院和国土资源部等项目的研究。2003年获国家杰出青年科学基金。[3]
